The Ragga Twins - Reggae Owes Me Money (1991)

Another one of those albums that defined my time at University. You haven't heard raw sampling and bleeps until you've heard this. Hooligan 69 I remember was always on constant rotation in our flat, so was Illegal Gunshot and Spliffhead. I even attempted to play this album in a restaurant I worked at as a waiter. Didn't work out. Great forward thinking album of the time.

Tracklisting:

Intro 0:51
1. The Homeless Problem
2. Illegal Gunshot
3. Love Talk
4. Hooligan 69
5. Spliffhead Remix

8. Ragga Trip

Slacker - Scared (1996)

I can't believe I never posted this here. Back in 1996 at The Gallery, Turnmills Club in Clerkenwell, London, my friends and I submerged ourselves into club culture. More an experiment of human endurance I'd say. It was fun, a lot of fun, perhaps too much fun, but this track was one of our anthems. Probably won't mean much to many of you, but for those of you who experienced the night, or even that period of London clubbing will appreciate it. Track 5 is the one - Scared (The Lonely Traveller)

Interesting fact about Slacker is that he was DJ Streets Ahead back in the old days of mind 1980's DJ challenges (video)

Tracklisting:

1. Scared (Edit)
2. Scared (The Lonely Traveller)
3. Scared (Dylan Rhymes Remix)
4. Scared (Pob Seismix)
5. Scared (Scared Of Tomorrow)

Arnaud Rebotini - Music Components (2009)

French producer under many guises, Arnaud Rebotini, Zend Avesta and Black Strobe. Use to be in death metal band from all accounts then found more creative output in producing techno.

Back in 2008 he decided he'd set up some vintage analog equipment such as the ARP Odyssey, Korg's Mono/Poly, and Roland's ever-reliable TR-808 and bang out this album. I wasn't convinced at first but it's hooked me some 24 months on. It needs to be listened in its entirety to be appreciated. It really does remind me of a Noom Records type release from the mid 90s.

Interesting fact is that he's also 40 years old.

Tracklisting:

1. The Spirit Of Boogie
2. Un Cheval D'Orgueil
3. 1314
4. Cm
5. The Swamp Waltz
6. Horns Of Innocence
7. Conakry Filter Sweep
8. 777
9. Decade Of Aggression
10. Mnll

Cybotron - R-9 (1985)

How far you going back? Way back.

Cybotron are Richard Davis and the one and only Juan Atkins. They gave us 'Clear' and 'Techno City' and this release from 1985 is relatively unknown (well it was in New Zealand before someone jumps on me for not knowing my shit). Worth a download, a listen and a back spin.

Tracklisting:

1. R-9 (Vocal)
2. R-9 (Instrumental)

Roska & Untold - Myth EP (2010)

Ok, I'm back. I turn 40 this weekend and I've been banished to my computer while my wife prepares for the event. Can't say I'm thrilled with the idea of clocking over to the Big 4, but what can you do?

I've posted a bit of Untold, and a bit of dubstep over the past couple of years. There's not a terrible lot of new shit which is doing it for me to be honest, the odd tune grabs my attention for some obscure reason, but on the whole not that much. So tonight I'm going to upload some stuff which has shuffled its way into my life recently. Hope you enjoy it as much as this old man has.

Tracklisting:

1. Myth
2. Long Range
